Before calling any title a crypto game without investment, check four stages.

• Entry: can a new account begin normal gameplay without buying an NFT, token or pass?
• Earning: can free gameplay reach a token, NFT or other blockchain-linked reward?

3. Alien Worlds: everyone starts with a free shovel

Alien Worlds remains one of the simplest on-chain examples. Its current mining page says every player starts with a free shovel. The getting-started guide says the Mining Game rewards players with Trilium, or TLM, for mining attempts. Better tools can improve mining power, but the first mining route exists before a player buys one.

Do not turn the free shovel into a shopping trigger

The free tool is deliberately weak. That can tempt a new player to buy stronger equipment before proving the basic loop. Resist that on the first test. Skyweaver currently says players can unlock more than 500 Base cards for free as they level and can win tradable Silver NFT cards through its reward system. Its support pages continue to describe the game as free-to-play and win-to-earn. That makes it a strong candidate for someone who prefers a strategy card game over farming or mining.

Skyweaver also has paid competitive routes - keep them separate

Skyweaver's Conquest mode is not part of the zero-capital test because the current rules require an entry item or USDC. The free path is ordinary progression and free competitive reward opportunities. Do not let a paid mode make the whole game look non-free, and do not let the existence of free gameplay make the paid mode look free.

Why Axie Infinity is not in the core four

Axie Origins does provide free starter Axies, so a new player can learn and play without buying a team. However, current Axie onboarding still emphasizes NFT Axies for the more rewarding experience, and the official getting-started flow directs users toward obtaining NFTs for the wider ecosystem. This article counts the first monetary input, not the marketing label. The cleanest route keeps personal money outside the game until after the first reward has been proven.

Avoid games that require an NFT before the first meaningful match

If the account cannot enter the relevant reward mode until you buy or rent an NFT, it is not a crypto game without investment under this definition. The purchase may be small and the game may be legitimate, but the search intent is different. A beginner looking for a zero-capital test should not need to speculate on an asset before knowing whether the game is enjoyable.

Do not count a token balance that cannot leave the game

Some games display points or token-like units that have no clear withdrawal or ownership path. Treat them as game currency until the current rules show how they become a blockchain asset. A dashboard number is not proof of a crypto reward.
